Naples is one of the most visited cities in Italy, renowned for it's location perched on the edge of Mount Vesuvius which gave birth to the archaeological ruins of Pompeii.  Naples is also a centre for art, with the Castelnuovo, the Museo Nazionale di Capodimonte, the Quaderia dei Girolamini and many other art museums and galleries located within it's surrounds.  The centre of Naples has also been UNESCO World Heritage listed and is well worth exploring.  Further afield from Naples are the beautiful towns of Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi, best reached by car, as well as the resort island of Capri.  The entire region, made up of the Amalfi Coast and surrounding Campania region, is dotted with picturesque villages ideal for exploring by car.

Naples International Airport (Napoli Capodichino) is located approximately six kilometres to the north of the centre of Naples in the vast sprawl of the Napolese suburbs.  The airport has two terminals though it is only the multi-level Terminal 1 that is used for scheduled flights.  Several international airlines operate out of the airport including Easy Jet and British Airways, though at present the only British airports serviced are located in London.  As the surrounding region is best explored by car it is recommended that you make use of the car hire services upon arrival - rentals are available from the bottom level of the terminal in the arrivals lounge.  Sixt, Maggiore, Dollar, Hertz, Avis, Europcar and Targarent are amongst the companies who offer car hire services from this location.
